In 2024, about 89% of infants worldwide received at least one dose of the diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (DTP) vaccine, and 85% completed the full three-dose series, reflecting modest progress in childhood immunization coverage. However, over 14 million children remain completely unvaccinated, with low-income and crisis-affected countries disproportionately affected, highlighting the need for intensified efforts to reach these vulnerable populations and prevent outbreaks of serious infectious diseases. Maintaining and improving vaccination rates is crucial for protecting children’s health and meeting global immunization goals by 2030.
