Impaired upper limb flexibility in the oldest-old is linked to a higher risk of all-cause mortality, particularly when the right side is affected, making it a simple and effective predictor of premature death. Maintaining or improving flexibility may support longevity by reflecting overall physical function and resilience in advanced age. Regular flexibility exercises could therefore be a practical preventive health measure to help reduce mortality risk among older adults.
