Global hunger has slightly declined to 8.2% of the population in 2024, about 673 million people, reflecting modest progress in regions like Latin America and Asia. However, hunger continues to rise in Africa and Western Asia, where up to 20% and 12.7% of people face food insecurity, respectively, highlighting persistent regional disparities. This underscores the urgent need for targeted efforts to improve food access and nutrition, especially in vulnerable areas, to move closer to the global goal of zero hunger by 2030.
