Investing an additional $3 per person annually in cost-effective measures to prevent and control noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health conditions could generate up to $1 trillion in economic benefits globally by 2030. Despite progress in reducing NCD mortality, the rate has slowed, and these diseases remain the leading cause of death worldwide, disproportionately affecting low- and middle-income countries. Practical actions include reducing risk factors, improving early detection and treatment access, and integrating multisectoral policies to enhance overall health and economic wellbeing. This highlights the importance of prioritizing affordable, evidence-based interventions to improve long-term health outcomes and support sustainable development.
